"She stared morosely at the road in front of her. The grass was itchy, the bugs were biting, and absolutely nothing exciting was happening. The road was as boring as the golf on the TV inside. Which begged the question: why wasn't she inside, where there was air conditioning and a remarkable lack of bugs. I mean, if the levels of boredom were the same...
She pondered this for a moment, and then smiled slightly.
She had come outside originally to escape the cats in the house, the allergens that debilitated her. Now she realized she was outside because the world was much more entertaining. Currently she was listening to a symphony of cicadas, and watching the cadence of her neighborhood's activity. The mosquitoes were annoying, sure, but the heat...
She reveled in the extreme humidity, the type that made her hair curl and her clothes feel moist [more moisture than simple sweat could create]. And the heat... the heat made her feel alive.
As she discovered these revelations her smile grew. It was a glorius day. Why would anyone want to be inside?"
