"I found myself in a predicament scarily similar to Emma's [Emma, Jane Austen]
I wanted so much for this Mr. Elton to like this Harriet. I worked toward it. I was a bit less modest than Emma though; I suspected him of liking me. The thing was, this Mr. Elton and Harriet fit so very well together, it was plainly obvious they were made for each other. I grow happy just thinking about it. But how on earth could I get Mr. Elton's focus off of me and onto Harriet?
Although I could just be really vain in thinking he had any interest in me.

better safe than sorry, right?

Though he definitely didn't ignore my Harriet.

Luckily I didn't have to worry about it now. In fact, if they did get together now I would be worried. Much too young"
